So now i’ve finally come to the 3rd part of my experience in AX 2010.
As previously mentioned even though I’ve spent over hours and hours in exhibition halls. Instead of looking for goodies to buy, I ended up lining up for autographs and this year I’ve gained total of 11 autographs. And be forewarned this will be a very long blog post, which I might have to cut the post down into 2 parts.
I’ve began to collect a autograph since my first AX 2008, with the very first autograph of Shoko Nakagawa and Jyukai, although in process I have managed to obtain autographs from David Hayter, a prominent voice actor who voiced Solid Snake in the Metal Gear Series. At the same time I also got a autograph from Kyle Herbert and Yuri Lowenthal during the promotion English localization Gurren Lagann.
Many of these are still in my room and I’ve kept them safe, some I’ve even laminated them, though to be honest, it is not a bad idea, but at the same time a bad idea. Because laminate can actually damage your posters and papers. However I found out that it will be a better idea to actually frame autographs.
My second time in AX 2009 I’ve obtained autographs from the director and sound director of BlazBlue and I’ve obtained over 3 sets of their autographs, 2 sets are on a pencil board and 1 set is on my Blaz Blue game box disc. In addition I’ve also obtained autograph of one of the director of Demon’s Soul, which at that moment they have been promoting the series.

Now… as my third visit into AX (of 2010) I’ve made up my mind to collect the autographs of the Guests of Honor that will be attending the con. I’ve made up my list of people which I am trying to obtain their autographs and they are Yui Horie, Eri Kitamura, Yuu Asakawa, Katsuyuki Konishi, May’n, MELL and lastly Megumi Nakajima. These are the people who I have been looking forward to see and meet and have their autographs. I have to say that i’ve been pretty successful to obtain their autographs, although I the experience is a little bit… hrm… unhappy ones. I wont blame the AX staff on this one, because in my opinion they have done a very well job to keep the line up and also the order (comparing last year). However the crowds who are looking for autograph are quite plenty and crowded.
Yui Horie autographs – I’ve been looking forward to her appearance in US, considering that she may be consider as one of prolific and veteran seiyuu (voice actor/tress). She worked on many things that are great and famous either from an anime or game, but as my best favorite anime of her work I will have to say that I really liked her role in School Rumble as Eri Sawachika, and as for her role in games, I really liked her work as Chie Satonaka from Persona 4, which is the reason why I’ve brought a Persona 4 artbook for her to sign.

Eri Kitamura autograph – As far as I know Eri Kitamura is pretty new in the seiyuu industry. I’ve only known her work from several series such as Eve from Needless, Ami from Toradora. However into my great surprise, she voiced Finnel from the recent Ar Tonelico III (Qoga) who is one of the main Heroine in the game, thus I’ve brought the Ar Tonelico III artbook with me to have her sign. When I hand her the page with Finnel Picture, she replied ‘Waaa its Finnel!’ in Japanese very excitedly.

Yuu Asakawa autograph – Yuu Asakawa is quite well known amongst fans and also with her recent success as the voice sample of Luka Megurine from the ever popular Yamaha’s Vocaloid series. Other works that she had done that I recognize is that, she voiced Rider from Fate Stay/Night. In addition to that she also lend her support as one of the character of Ar Tonelico II and III, Sasha. As for her to sign I’ve brough a base of Nendoroid Luka Megurine and also the Ar Tonelico III art book for her to sign. Her focus panel is great, as she tried her best to speak and reply in English which I have to agree that she speaks a very well English. By far I really enjoyed her focus panel most compared to other seiyuu’s panel.

Katsuyuki Konishi – or also to be called as ‘Aniki’, though I personally admits the ‘Aniki’ for me is Ichirou Mizuki. But in any case, the crowds scared the whole out of me, I am terrified with the fans that he has, and not to mention during the autograph lining there are even some fans who cried not able to get his signature and gets all emotional. I’ve known his first work from Shaman King as Asakura Yoh’s Amidamaru, later on with Shounen Onmyouji’s Guren Touda. However his best and perhaps most famous role is Kamina from Gurenn Lagann, thus the ‘Aniki’ calls. I’ve recently found out that he also voiced the main character of the Hokuto Musou – Kenshiro. Thus I’ve brought a copy of PS3 Hokuto Musou (thank you for being Region free) to have him sign on the booklet.
Hokuto Musou for PS3, he had to autographed it in Black Sharpie ~.~…
There are several other autographs that I’ve obtained, however since they are not the ‘pre-planned’ ones, I’ve have placed them into some posters and other media that I’ve obtained on the con. For example a poster of Toradora with autograph of one of the Toradora’s Director Takahiro Yamanaka and Yui Horie.

and a piece of paper with autograph from Yuu Asakawa, because I’ve left my Ar Tonelico III art book inside the car and they are closing the line just as I was questioning the staff in regards of the autograph session. I am really glad that she is willing to sign this piece of paper though.
This is the autographed paperand this is the supposed illustration where I would like to have her autographed
I will have to stop the blog here, since it seems going to be a quite a wall of text. I will post the 4th part as the continuity of this part and apparently I expect there will up until 5th or 6th part. And in conclusion this part 3 generally have the autograph of the voice actors/actress and as far as other artists I will cover them on the later part.
In any case, thank you very much for reading my blog journal for AX 2010 and until the next time.
Update: Yeah its a little bit update. I just wanted to add this extra section to my Autograph Line companion ‘Lex’, who have spend most of time lining up together with me and subsequently also made him to start collecting Autographs of the guests in AX. Its He started to went into Autograph since last year AX 2009 which given him signatures of the BlazBlue directors and Demon’s Souls director Autographs. However this time he scored really big with 3 sets of autograph of the two Toradora’s guest who were present in the AX 2010, namely Yui Horie and Eri Kitamura. I asked him to take the picture of his collection, so I can post into this blog and he agreed. Pictures that are shown from now on are all belonged to him.
